Conditional DismissalBack on January 4th 2014, New Jersey enacted a new law for criminal cases being handled in Municipal Court.  Now, for the first time a defendant with no past criminal issues can qualify for a “Conditional Dismissal”.  If granted by the Judge, a probationary term for your crime can be imposed, with certain conditions.  If these conditions are all met, your case will be dismissed with no criminal record attached.  For people charged with shoplifting, assault, harassment, trespassing, bad checks, and countless other offenses, this new law is a game changer.  You can now utilize your “one get out of jail card for free.”  However, there are many considerations to review and evaluate before you should go down this route.  Feel free to contact me directly if you would like a better understating on how this works, and if it is the best option for your particular matter.
