DUI / DWI
DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) also called DUI (Driving Under the Influence) is prohibited by New Jersey Statutory Law. A person who operates a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or more by weight of alcohol in the defendant's blood, or under any narcotic, hallucinogenic or habit-producing drug, or operates a motor vehicle can be found guilty under the law.
New Jersey takes a very strong stance against people charged with a DWI/DUI. If convicted there is a mandatory loss of license and possible jail term.
